Being off grid and rural is amazing. There are downsides though…
About a week or so ago, the water had stopped coming out the hose.
Linda investigated, despite the rain, and this cheeky snake had hidden in it! Three cheers for Linda!
Malibu’s progress
Who remembers our big girl, Malibu?
Here she is stood next to Miguel who is 5’8 in old money!
We are getting closer to having calm hind feet care, which is great and today, she has been a really good girl. Just getting her used to responding to hands and legs when riding. She learns very quickly and has a lovely long stride in walk.
Puppy looking for love

This little man is our latest farm foster. He will be a medium sized dog when grown.
Clean in the house and good with both dogs and cats and he’s only 2.5 months. Such a good boy!

Sunshine
One of the reasons it’s so great to come here for a horse riding holiday is the weather. In this region, we get over 300 days of sunshine a year! 🌞
The scent of the mountains
One thing that often surprises our horse holiday guests is the sweet smells of the mountain.
The air is clean and fresh, the wild thyme, rosemary and lavender release their perfume as the horses brush past.
Accompanied by views for miles, the feel of the horse beneath you, the great food at the mountain cottages you stay in, all your senses are truly spoiled!
Just the one cloud
The ranch is in its own cloud this morning!
Mulhacén, the mountain backdrop
The snowy peak on the left is Mulhacén, the highest peak in Spain. Makes for the finest background for horse treks, as this photo from 2018 shows 🗻
Mars the cat
Thank you from us all and Mars himself for all the comments and messages we’ve received about his convalescence.
He’s been keeping warm and snug today out the rain with Scoot, the tiny dog with the big heart.

Mr G returns
So excited that tomorrow, Mr G is coming back to the Ranch after wintering away.
Having another mouth to feed without being able to have guests come for treks is difficult but he’s worth it, such a handsome boy. He loves his work and can’t wait when we can have you all back!
